Cemeteries in the Kinmundy-Alma area
The list below represents the cemeteries throughout the northern part of Marion county within the Kinmundy-Alma area. Each cemetery has a link below to www.findagrave.com where you can find PHOTOS of tombstones. These entries and photographs have been added by many people who have ties to the area. The Kinmundy Historical Society is continuing to add more data and photos to that website.
Many of the cemeteries have documents describing the actual plot information. This will tell you the location of the gravesites. We have also included some biographical information for those in which we found obituaries, death certificates, marriage records, etc.
This is an ongoing project and we are constantly adding to these documents and weblinks. We found this to be an important project for two reasons. 1) It important to remember those who lived and established our communities, and 2) many tombstones are being lost each year due to weather elements.
