Saturday September 1:

Community Center

  • Breakfast served by American Legion 7:00 am until 10:30 am
  • Uncle Phil's Diner (aka Bargh's Drug Store) Interactive Dinner Theatre 11:30 am
      Tickets $15, reservations required. Contact Jeanette Hoeinghaus 547-3771
  • Country Rhodes Fish Fry from 4:30 until 7:00 pm/ pie auction
      Tickets: $7.50 Adults, $5.50 Children 12 and under, $7.50 carryout

  • Dance through the Decades 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm
  • Queen Crowning 9:30 pm

Sunday September 2:

City Park (in case of rain, South Central Middle School)
  • All Community Church Service with Devore Family Song Service 11:00 am
      Howard Kraps, guest speaker and Ministers of area churches recognized
  • Box Lunch Social (bring your own or purchase one at IGA or the Curve)
       save room for homemade ice cream!
    To follow church service
  • Following social--Field of Dreams Baseball Game at Lion's Field
       (SCHS Baseball Team vs original Abner Doubleday Rules Team) 2:00 pm
  • Through the Years History Open House at Kinmundy-Alma Firehouse 2:00 pm
  • Community Gospel Sing at City Park 5:00 pm
  • Movie in the Park (Finding Nemo) at dusk
  • Fireworks to follow movie

Monday September 3:

  • 10th Annual Labor Day 5k Road Race (Lion's Club 5k run/walk)
      8:00 am start, Pre Registration begins at 7:30 am at the Bandstand

  • Quilt Show at Masonic Lodge 10:00 am
  • Memorabilia/ Historical Display Home 10:00 am
       Items to display, please contact Dorothy Geiler 547-3596
  • Lions' Club Annual Chicken Dinner, at Community Center 11:00 am to 2:00pm
  • Games, Rides, Vendors, Crafters, Souvenirs, Tractor Show, Petting Zoo at the City Park 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • "Heartland Honeys" Dance Performance at the City Park 11:30 am
  • Fashion Show at the City Park 12:00 Noon
      (also, recognizing 50 year alumni, 50 year wedding anniversaries, various individual costumes, Beards, etc)
  • Barbershop Quartet at the City Park 1:30pm
  • Chocolate Pilot Flyover and Parade 2:00 pm
  • South Central Band and Choir Performance at the Bandstand following the Parade
    Parade Prizes and Quilt Raffle drawing to follow musical performance
  • Dance at the Community Center to follow band and choir preformance
